The building sits at a unique intersection where the Cambie Street bridge and curving streets of West 2nd come together. Through a rigorous process of digital and physical modeling to understand and respond to the context and city-zoning requirements, the result is a 6 level residential development defined by a series of curved lines that shape the building in plan and section.
Slowly tapering inwards from bottom to top, with strong horizontal bands defining the outer edge of the building, the layers reflect the movement around the site while shaping the views towards and within the apartment units.
At night the lines of building are expressed by a lighting installation by Dutch artist Tamar Frank // http://www.lightspace.org/
