Working with a team of over one-hundred people (students, researchers, community members, builders, technologists and artists) Insitu Comuna Innova is was project that took on the task to design and build a public installation in 21 communities throughout the city of Medellin. 16 Comunas + 5 Corregimientos.
Comuna Innova is a social and collaborative project as well as a showcase of social and technological innovation. There are many different processes and layers, from public engagement to advanced digital modeling, from construction work to research and documentation. It is a project that learns and educates.
The 21 projects of Comuna Innova are as diverse as the city itself. From memorial walls, to new public parks, from mobile dance floors to skate parks, from digital graffiti to an array of urban furniture installations promoting public space and urban agriculture.
